This year marked the 10th Annual Eliot (ME) Antique Tractor and Engine Show, with plenty of working iron on parade and display, with tractor games, pulls, engine displays, and more. Check
out WMUR-TV's "Chronicle" for a story about this year's
tractor show, scheduled for Tuesday, October 3 at 7:30pm on Manchester
NH's Ch. 9. You can also visit WMUR's "Chronicle" website
for schedule information. The show was held - as always - at the Raitt Homestead Farm, on Rt. 103 in Eliot, Maine (just 1/4 mile from junction of Rt. 236). The turnout was the largest yet, with most of the spaces filling up by Friday night. The schedule was tweaked a bit from past yeas, with tractor pulling starting later in the afternoon, which allowed more time for folks to enjoy the displays. In addition to the wide variety of old engines (and tractors), you could even find a 105-year-old, 12-foot Aeromotor windmill, and an antique stationary hay baler. The music was great, the weather was great, and everyone we talked to agreed that this year's was the best show ever... Now it's time to start thinking about next year...
